Nooravi

Frequently Asked Questions

For teachers, parents, schools and regulators. UAE-first, aligned to KHDA & ADEK.

Current status: we are building a guided school demonstrator with synthetic pupils and no live AI call. Nooravi is not yet accepting real pupil data or offering live school accounts. Nooravi never diagnoses.

About Nooravi

What is Nooravi?

Practical, expert-reviewed special-educational-needs (SEN) support for classrooms and home learning. It helps teachers, SENCOs, teaching assistants, tutors and parents with evidence-informed strategies, accommodations, behaviour support, scripts, progress tracking, and guidance on when to seek further professional input.

Who is it for?

School staff (teachers, inclusion leads, learning-support assistants, tutors) and parents/carers supporting a child at home.

What does it actually do?

You describe a classroom or home challenge in plain language (e.g. "Year 3 child with ADHD keeps leaving their seat during maths") and Nooravi returns a structured, practical support plan drawn from a curated, expert-reviewed strategy library. You can track which strategies were tried and how they worked, and generate progress reports, a one-page pupil passport, and IEP/provision evidence.

Is it a diagnostic or medical tool?

No. Nooravi never provides diagnoses or medical advice. It offers educational strategies, accommodations and signposting only. It does not replace professional assessment, and it is not a medical device.

Safety & quality

Is the guidance reviewed by a qualified person?

Yes. The strategy library is reviewed and approved by our co-founder and clinical lead — a serving Head of Inclusion with a Master's in Special Educational Needs — before it can ever be shown to a user. Unreviewed material is never served. Meet the founders.

What happens with a safeguarding or self-harm disclosure?

These are detected up front and handled with vetted, role- and jurisdiction-appropriate escalation guidance (helplines, emergency and safeguarding routes). Critical disclosures are never sent to the AI — they are routed to pre-approved safe responses.

Can the AI be wrong?

Yes — like any assistant, it can. Nooravi is decision-support, not a decision-maker: a qualified professional's judgment always takes precedence. Responses are checked by automated guardrails that block diagnosis claims, medication advice, restraint/punishment suggestions and false guarantees.

Data protection & privacy

Is a child's personal data sent to the AI?

The demonstrator uses synthetic people and makes no live AI call. For a future live pilot, the design keeps encrypted identity fields separate from AI generation and scrubs direct identifiers before a model call. Context can still be re-identifying, so the school's data assessment and the approved inference route must cover it.

Then how do reports/passports/IEPs show the child's real name?

The implemented design stores the identity field separately in an encrypted vault. An authorised named-report request assembles it inside the application without sending that identity field to a model. Alias-first display, access controls and audit logging will be acceptance-tested before live pupil records are enabled.

Where is data stored?

The demonstrator contains synthetic data only and runs locally. For a future live pilot, Nooravi intends UAE-region storage, backups, application compute, logs and secrets. The AI inference route will be approved separately: a UAE service endpoint does not by itself prove UAE-only processing.

Is data encrypted?

The existing design includes field-level encryption for identity/document records and TLS in transit. Live-pilot approval also requires verified key management, backups and deployment acceptance testing.

Who can see a child's record?

The target policy is least-privilege access within one school, explicit sharing and audited named-record access. Roles and tenant isolation will be tested against the named school's requirements before live use.

Can I delete my data?

Deletion flows exist in the code. End-to-end erasure—including backups, logs and any provider records—must be verified against the selected live architecture before pilot.

Do you use two-factor authentication?

Yes — optional app-based two-factor authentication (TOTP) is available for web accounts.

Does the AI provider train on our data?

No production AI provider has been selected. Nooravi will approve one only after reviewing current no-training, retention, logging, sub-processor and routing terms. The synthetic demonstrator does not send prompts to an external provider.

For schools & government

What's the compliance posture?

Nooravi is being designed to support UAE PDPL and relevant KHDA/ADEK school duties; it is not certified or automatically compliant by design. A live pilot requires a named DPA/DPIA, agreed roles and retention, approved hosting/inference, incident handling and sub-processor schedule.

Is it classified as health/medical?

No. Nooravi is an educational support tool. It explicitly does not diagnose or give medical advice, and includes safeguards to keep it within that boundary.

Are the official documents (IEP evidence, pupil passport) trustworthy?

They are supporting drafts assembled from goals, provision and outcomes. School professionals remain responsible for review, approval and official use; Nooravi does not replace the school's statutory record or professional judgment.

Getting started & cost

How do people access it?

We are building a guided synthetic demonstrator for school discovery meetings. You can get the free Starter Pack or email [email protected] to discuss a paid founding pilot. Live accounts open only after the readiness gate.

Is there a free option?

The SEN Starter Pack is free. Nooravi is not offering a free live-data school pilot; the current commercial hypothesis is a paid founding pilot with written scope and readiness checks.

Nooravi provides educational support strategies only. It does not diagnose, does not give medical advice, and does not replace professional assessment or a school's safeguarding procedures.
